Va rog sa retrimiteti mesajul la toate femeile din viata voastra: mame, fete, surori, matusi, prietene, etc.
In Noiembrie a fost descoperita o forma rara de cancer la san. O doamna a descoperit o eruptie pe sanul sau, similara cu cea a unei mame tinere care a nascut. Pentru ca mamografia nu indica nimic deosebit, doctorul a tratat-o cu antibiotice ca pentru o infectie. Dupa doua serii de tratament cu antibiotice continua sa-i fie rau; atunci doctorul a trimis-o sa faca o noua mamagrafie. De aceasta data i-a aparut o masa de tesut atipic. Biopsia a scos in evidenta un tesut malign care crestea repede. A fost inceputa chimioterapia pentru ca tumoarea sa fie localizata; interventia chirurgicala a reusit; o noua runda de chimioteratie; radiatii. Dupa aproape 9 luni de tratamnet intens, ea a fost considerata sanatoasa. A trait un an cu fiecare zi foarte plina de viata. Cand cancerul i s-a reintors in zona ficatului, ea a inceput 4 tratamente si a decis ca vrea sa aibe o viatia de calitate, nu efecte post-chimio. Ea a trait 5 luni deosebite, in care si-a planificat fiecare detaliu al ultimelor zile. Dupa cateva zile in care a avut nevoie de morfina, a murit. Ea a lasat acest mesaj pentru a fi transmis femeilor de peste tot:
Femei, VA ROG fiti atente la orice nu este normal si insistati sa primiti ajutor cat mai rapid posibil.
Boala „Paget" este o forma rara de cancer la san si apare in exterior, pe sfarc sau in zona sfarcului. Apare ca o eczema (urticarie) care mai tarziu devine o leziune cu o crusta ca o linie exterioara. Eu nu am dorit sa ma suspectez de cancer la san dar a fost. Sfarcul meu nu mi s-a parut ca-mi arata ceva deosebit, dar eczema ma deranja, asa ca am fost la doctor pentru ea. Uneori, ma manca si era ca un punct dureros (ca o buba), dar alteori nu-mi arata nimic deosebit. Era urata si o pacoste, si nu am putut sa scap de ea cu nicio crema prescrisa de medicul meu si nici de dermatologul care tocmai imi rezolvase o dermatita la ochi. Acestuia i s-a parut o mica tumoare dar nu m-a avertizat ca ar putea fi canceroasa.
Acum, eu nu suspectez toate femeile care au o leziune sau o eczema pe sfarc sau in jurul sfarcului ca asta ar putea fi cancer de san. Startul meu a fost ca un cos rosu pe aureola din jurul sfarcului. Una din cele mai mari probleme cu aceasta boala este ca aparitia simtomelor poate fi inofensiva, nevinovata. Este frecvent perceputa ca o inflamatie, infectie a pielii, conducand la o nenorocita intarziere in detectare si tratare. Care sunt simptomele?
1. O roseata persistenta, maloasa si formand o crusta pe sfarcul dumneavoastra, cauzand mancarime si arsura (Am stabilit: nu m-a mancat si ars mult si nu am avut supuratie; am fost constienta de asta, dar era o crusta ca o linie pe o parte.)
2. O buba pe sfarc care nu se mai vindeca. (A mea a fost pe aria din jurul sfarcului.)
3. De obicei numai sfarcul este afectat. Cum este diagnosticat? Doctorul dumneavoastra va face o examinare si va va sugera sa faceti o mamografie la ambii sani, imediat. La orice roseata, mancarime, crusta, inflamatie a pielii, doctorul dumneavoastra ar putea sa va suspecteze de cancer daca aceasta problema (buba) este doar la unul din sani. Apoi ar trebui facuta o biopsie pentru a fi sigur de asta si a vedea ce este de facut mai departe.
Acest mesaj este bine sa fie luat in serios si trimis mai departe la cat mai multi posibil dintre rudele si prietenii dumneavoastra; aceasta poate salva o viata.
Cancerul meu de san s-a intins si a facut metastaze la oase dupa doza de chimioterapie, 28 tratamente cu radiatii si cu Tamaxofin. Daca acest cancer de san ar fi fost diagnosticat de la inceput, el nu s-ar fi intins asa....

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.
Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass.
A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.
She had one year of living each day to its fullest. Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:
Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.
Paget's Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up
with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.
Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer. (Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought
to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.) What are the symptoms?
1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)
2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).
3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.
This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone's life.
My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread...
