Financial situation: No income since november, MJ's work project has
been closed by employer and Eddy's musical activity is on hold because
of the recent tragic events that shook the romanian musical root. The drum lessons that supported us for the past 2 years are also on hold
due to the house's continuous degrading and the cats and puppies flow. It's december and although we've both tried, it's almost impossible
to find a job so quick so we can pass the next month, and we have already asked all of our friends for loans. We need to pay the vet debt,
almost 100 euros, and the bills for the apartment - 3 months water and electricity bill, almost 200 euros.
Animal care: right now we have in our care 12 adult cats, 16 kittens for adoption, 4 adult dogs and 4 puppies for adoption. They all need
deworming, both cats and dogs. The puppies are Bucovina Sheperd breed, they need baby milk, special food, shots, vet care and
papers, vitamins and dog pads. The kittens are rescued and most of them in recovery after rinotracheitis, pneumonia, car hits or other
issues. They need immunity increase so that means constant heat, good food, vitamins and obviously vet care and medicine. We take no charge for fostering and some of them were just abandoned here. Their adoption is urgent and we need a lot of help with that.
Location issues: this house is 100 years old and it has never been renovated or even repaired. It's a 100 meters apartament in a 4
apartment house that we are talking about, but the rest of the building is deserted although the owners live in town, and the renter neighbours in the back have no interest in it. It's them the reason we can use only 20 m from 1000 m yard. We urgently need materials at least to temporarely repair the roof and afected walls, fix the doors and some missing windows. Imperative action has to be done on the electric system that is very old and also afected by the moist in the walls. It's a sine qua non condition for maintaining the heat give that electrical power is the only source for heating in the building. Please consider that the apartment has only cold water and no drain, so we are using buckets for water waste.
General issues: we are overwhemed with all kind of mandatory necesities and daily expenses although we are spending all of our time working here. We have moved in here not to pay rent elsewhere and to be able to check the situation anytime. We need to buy cat sand, cleaning consumables (bags, gloves, floor cleaner, furniture cleaner,baby disinfectant, puppy pads, toilet paper, rags etc). We need an instant water heater, a fair safe electrical heater, We have no gas for the car that has been kindly let to our use untill january, we need to fix
some appliances, a new vacuum cleaner and a new fridge 'cause they are both broken and so on.
Personal matters... well we take responsability for our lifestyle and we are trying to support ourselves as well as we can. There is nobody else's fault, or duty to ensure we can survive through this winter. But, if you've read this far, you may want a short brief on our personal
state. These are hard times for us, it is deffinitely the most troubled period in our common lives, and please note that me and my wife
we've meet 20 years ago.
We both have medical conditions and health issues that would fill a list as long as the one above. There is no time and no possibility to take care of that now. We've both lost around 15 kilos in the past year and we also need dentist care right away. Eddy's folks are retired and have toghether a hilarious 350 euros pension, they are both very sick and unable to take care of themselfs properly, living in a town 125 km away from Bucharest. MJ's mother has also health issues, she is a single working woman and she lives alone. But all of this are fading in front of the huge amount of suffering that has been brought to us lately... friends that have passed in the Colectiv tragedy, friends that still fight for their lives... Our best friend sister is gone, another friend just passed last week...and still coming, we've lost our friend Pez, and also another 3 cats died in our arms after a lot of struggle and vet care. We took Daisy, the big dog, to the mountains this spring, for a new life in a new home and family but now she's back in a package with 4 Bucovina Shepperd puppies. There is no place, time and no energy for no personal care, development, carreer or projects.
I can't continue like this, it's too sad for the reader I suppose. The good side of the hard times is that we met some wonderful people, that did their best to help us, they're a handful of people we thank to daily. A large part of our burden has been taken over by our wonderful friends, old ones and some that befriended us with the only intention to help. You helped us keep going on and we're beyond grateful! Also, in return, let me say that we enjoy some unique moments with all the small guys, and I mean it. Every single one of them is acting like they are here just to give us love and affection, and this is the source where we come to refill at the end of the day. You can see in the pictures that we are, actually, very positive and happy persons by default. That's it, thank you for the moment you took to read this, hopefully it will make a difference.
